My Favorite Hotels Part 2
Well, welcome again. Today, I will be talking about the second favorite Hotel, which is the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in Orlando, Florida on Disney grounds. Wow is my first thought to describe the hotel from the street. As we all know, Disney World as a whole spared no expense for the public to have a first class ride of Entertainment and Fun, but with the hotels and suites, they created different "classes" of quality, depending on the price that you want to pay and what you desire for the scenery to be.
Now, the Animal Kingdom Lodge is definitely a handful to describe, but lets try to start...If you can imagine being in the jungle or at a zoo (at the very least.) When you approach, you will see Straw roofs, lots of scenery like trees, flowers, bushes, color...(when you go to take a picture, you have to decide which part of it you want in the picture. You do not want to miss anything beautiful.) Now, I will describe the experience after you get out of the cab.
1. Greeters. You are greeted by people of many genders and ethnic background. Simply delightful. You will feel like you just left the Country. They are there to open the car door for you, another to grad your luggage, and another to check you in if you already have reservations. You even have someone that will answer any questions you may have about the Hotel or the Amusement Parks. It was almost overwhelming having that many people at your disposal, but my 4 year old daughter loved it.
2. Check In. If you already have a reservation, there is a special line for you. No waiting in 20 people long lines. You also get a chance to choose your scenery. (I will talk about this later).
3. Finding your Room. Once you check in, the Bell Hop will wait with you until your check in is complete and walk you to your room, and show you some of the beautiful features of the Hotel. Once in the room, he unloads your luggage, your computer (if you wish), your toiletries, and opens the blinds for you.
4. The Room. WOW! They are huge for a hotel room (not a suite). The bath has a jacuzzi tub, granite everywhere, beautiful decorative, woven carpet, bed spreads nicer than any that I've seen before in a hotel. The rooms smell freshly cleaned, and mine had a balcany that looked over the pool area. Still today, when we travel around, I look for that cozy feeling that I got from that room and the workers.
5. Eating Places. Now, you have to have your mind right about the eating places. You are at a Hotel whose focus is Africa and their traditions. I can not really explain in detail the eating place at the Hotel because I did not eat there. ( I am particular. I do not try too many new things) But, I can say that the room service was good.
6. The Lobby. I have to tell you about the lobby. If you remember the average Lobby in a Hotel that you have frequented???...(pause) Can not really remember, can you? Well, this one will stick with you for a long time. The ceilings are three or four stories high, and you can not turn your head without enjoying some great detail. Disney spared no expense in this one.
The lights were made from some type of African gear that span about 4 or 5 feet around and there were 4-6 of them above you. Now, before I go on, take what ever you remember seeing, and multiply the size by three, if you can. Next, the lobby had plenty of seating made of beautiful African design and artistry. Things were bound together by the rope and you could see your self clearly in the floors. Absolutely beautiful!
7. The Animals outside. Can you believe...there were actual, real giraffes, penguins, and the like on the grounds. Not next door, not through a binoculars, but right there on the grounds for you to read about, sit and watch, even take pictures. I do not know anywhere else that I would have ever seen a giraffe (other than the zoo, of course)
I think that I liked it more than my four year old.
In conclusion, I absolutely love this Hotel. The workers were sweet and informative, the rooms were immaculate and the view was unique and extraordinary. I know that if any of you ever visit this Hotel, you will absolutely love it. Oh, yes, I forgot to mention. The detail was so beautiful that I remembered some things that I saw, hired an artist and decorated my wall with some beautiful detail, inspired by the Hotel.
